Israel:Unilateral cease fire and immediate withdrawal. So long Labor and Kadima parties

There is no way these politicians can excuse their decisions to the Israeli public. I'm only assuming they have got a clear and strong message regarding the relationship with the USA on January 20th and decided to preempt a catastrophe to Israel's ties with only friend in the world, the US. I however, am not sure that it would help - Israel needs a strong leadership to help the country survive the Obama years without further dangerous concessions to terrorists. The Clinton years have been disastrous, the only reason Hezbollah, Fatah and Hamas have reached this point were they threat Israel on a regular basis is because of Israeli concessions due to US pressure.

Cabinet to vote Saturday on unilateral Gaza truce
The deal would also call for cooperation between Israel and Egypt on matters relating to the Gaza Strip in which they have shared interests, without the interference of Hamas.

Egypt is at the moment considering whether to organize a summit in the near future between Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The United States and Israel signed an agreement on Friday aimed at stopping the smuggling of weapons into the Gaza Strip, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said.

The deal includes measures meant to fight arms smuggling from Iran to Gaza, with the policing to take place throughout the route by which the arms reach Gaza, including patrols of the Persian Gulf, Sudan, and neighboring states
