Yesterday Congress's dereliction of duty, Markets meltdown - remind me of Brawndo

First - view how yesterday was predicted in a satire about how idiotic things can get:

Idiocracy saw it coming. Because it happened before. Panic in the streets and politicians acting like buffoons. Speaking of, what was Pelosi doing yesterday? They knew it wouldn't pass - pretended it would - and started throwing mud and playing the blame game even before the vote. Despicable. Then Kerry on O'Reilly show said - "we democrats are trying to save Bush's economy"... wow - really? Not the American economy? Then he contradicted himself, watch it.
First, Pelosi cynical moves:

At 1:25, Republicans are hypocrites. Notice at 3:20 Pelosi injecting jokes like "I don't know what was so great about the depression". Did I mention that was a cynical speech? "We have worked in a bipartisan way" - said at 13:10. Bipartisan? At 14:00 the blame game resumes - same as the speech had begun.

Here's how Kerry sees it:

At 2:40 (counted backwards), Kerry says: "Who are we rescuing? We're rescuing George Bush!"

Brawndo - the thirst mutilator, get some... Pelosi won't save the economy, maybe brawndo will.

I already mentioned what I think about how the economy affects the election, here. I assume some would allow the economy to burn - just to win an election.

Will the Stock Market Meltdown Give Rise to Antisemitism?

I barely gave it a thought until a few minutes ago. I thought that this kind of low life antisemitism has gone with the Nazis in 1945. But no, a crappy company's stock value plunges and here's how someone comments on Yahoo Message Board for the company CIT:
GETTING A S S RAPED!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT THE F U C K?!?!? THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY KILLING US HERE! UN F U C K I N G BELIEVABLE!!!I'M GETTING A S S RAPED!! WHY THE F U C K IS THIS POS DROPPING SO DAMN MUCH??? NO VOLUME EITHER! NOW GOING INTO THE $5.00's!!!GUESS I'LL JUST WAIT FOR THE VOTE, NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE!!F U C K THIS MARKET AND ALL THE GOD D A M N JEWS THAT A S S RAPED US ALL!!!!!!!

So here's the deal; That company truly sucks. Their stock is apparently worthless and has dropped 20% this morning. So what?! Other companies, good ones, who are swimming in cash and have contracts 10 years from now, and are buying back stock are plunging an average of 10% as well - like Foster Wheeler and Joy Global - so what? Panic entices people to show their true faces. It is what it is, an opportunity for horrible anti-Semites to show their nature. To find someone to pick on - "Those Jews". Nazi propaganda on financial discussion board - I just didn't see it coming. Will this "trend" become more vocal as more and more people feel the pain? The old-age stereotype of banker Jews controlling the world raising it's ugly head again?

There is a direct connection between the collapse in 1929, the depression, and the rise of the Nazis. The global economy collapsed and the masses turned in despair to the preachers of hate. We are facing a financial catastrophe of epic proportions, and yes - it could definitely happen again. Reading that piece of garbage this morning gave me a rude awakening.

10/2/2008 Update:
I'm not the only one who noticed this:
ADL Reports Surge in Anti-Semitic Messages on Online Finance Sites in Response To Money Crisis
New York, NY, October 2, 2008 … In the wake of the collapse of major investment banks and the government's proposed bailout of financial institutions, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is reporting a dramatic upsurge in the number of anti-Semitic statements being posted to Internet discussion boards devoted to finance and the economy.

Hundreds of anti-Semitic posts regarding Lehman Brothers and other institutions affected by the subprime mortgage crisis have been submitted to discussion boards dealing with finance, with many more arriving by the minute. The messages rail against Jews in general, with some charging that Jews control the government and finance as part of a "Jew world order" and therefore are to blame for the economic turmoil.

Anti-Jewish invective also has surfaced on a wide variety of blogs and conspiracy Web sites, according to ADL, which monitors anti-Semitism on the Internet through its Center on Extremism. And similar messages have also appeared on neo-Nazi and white supremacist Web sites and Internet forums, which frequently seek to exploit current issues in an effort to spread anti-Semitism to potential recruits.

"We know from modern history that whenever there is a downturn in the global economy, there will be an upturn in the level of anti-Semitism and bigotry, and that is what we are seeing now," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. "The age-old canards about Jews and money are always just beneath the surface. As we witnessed after 9/11, whenever there is trouble or uncertainty in the economy or world events, Jews become the scapegoats, and ugly anti-Semitic canards are given new life."

Examples of some of the more virulent anti-Semitic posts to mainstream Finance message boards include:

* "(Jews have) infiltrated Wall Street and Government and have ruined our country."
* "What is a GS Jew? Goldman Sachs? Jews are greedy, rotten slime balls."
* They (Jews) love money nothing else, no faith or religion can be so heartless to their victims."
* That's how they work they short the stock all the way making billions and then cover right it up sell and then taxpayers to the rescue and it is true all those institutions are ran by Jews …."

Obama's behaviour in the debate: Insolence

merriam-webster.com definition:
Insolence - an instance of insolent conduct or treatment
Insolent - insultingly contemptuous in speech or conduct

There's an ancient Hebrew word for it: Hutzpa!

How many time can Obama talk over and cut McCain while speaking? Junior - know your place and wait for your turn. How un-presidential, disrespectful of the occasion.

BTW: Here's what I'm doing while listening to Obama talk, I open Obama Soundboard and click on the word "bullshit" - while he's speaking. Very amusing. Obama talking over Obama.

14 minutes to debate - tough week - food for thought

Who's MOST responsible for financial debacle?

Onion thinks Obama wants us to keep shit-jobs: (satire)

Obama Promises To Stop America's Shitty Jobs From Going Overseas

Ann Coulter: They Gave Your Mortgage to a Less Qualified Minority
On MSNBC this week, Newsweek's Jonathan Alter tried to connect John McCain to the current financial disaster, saying: "If you remember the Keating Five scandal that (McCain) was a part of. ... He's really getting a free ride on the fact that he was in the middle of the last great financial scandal in our country."

McCain was "in the middle of" the Keating Five case in the sense that he was "exonerated." The lawyer for the Senate Ethics Committee wanted McCain removed from the investigation altogether, but, as The New York Times reported: "Sen. McCain was the only Republican embroiled in the affair, and Democrats on the panel would not release him."

So John McCain has been held hostage by both the Viet Cong and the Democrats.

Alter couldn't be expected to know that: As usual, he was lifting material directly from Kausfiles. What is unusual was that he was stealing a random thought sent in by Kausfiles' mother, who, the day before, had e-mailed: "It's time to bring up the Keating Five. Let McCain explain that scandal away."

Michelle Malkin: Kill the bailout: More ACORN funding?! (vid link added)
Just heard from several readers that Lindsay Grahamnesty told Fox that the Mother of All Bailouts includes a reported $100 million more in funding for the left-wing housing entitlement thugs and heavily tax-subsidized fraudsters at ACORN. Under the original bailout proposal, apparently, a large portion of any repayment of the $700 billion would go to Barack Obama’s good friends at ACORN with a smaller allocation to debt repayment. Readers heard him say it was 20 percent.

Told you not to trust Hank Paulson.

And I repeat: Fiscal conservatives need to be looking out for us tonight as they try to ram this thing through with a plethora of goodies for liberal shakedown artists.

...

Some people were really pissed they couldn't short the financials and are forced to loose money by covering:

You'd think that bloggers telling us how bad it is would advocate some bail-out options, right? Wrong. This blogger was a supporter of Ron Paul, then moved to support Obama - while meticulously tracking everything wrong with the economy that should have and has failed:
MISH'S Global Economic Trend Analysis: Take Back America
It is time to take back America from Wall Street and return it to Main Street USA.

Treasury Secretary Paulson is attempting to ram down the throats of US taxpayers, a $700 billion bailout of Goldman Sachs (GS), JPMorgan (JPM), Citigroup (C), Morgan Stanley (MS) and other many other banks that participated in questionable if not fraudulent mortgage lending schemes.

Those corporations have padded their own pocketbooks and handed out billions of dollars in bonuses and stock options over the past few years, all based on mythical profits.

Now those same corporations are asking U.S. taxpayers to bail out their bad lending practices to the tune of $700 billion. No Deal!

Mad Rush To Judgment

This past week has been noting short of amazing. President Bush appeared before the nation stressing a sense of urgency. Paulson and Fed chairman Bernanke have done the same thing before Congress. Inquiring minds are asking "Why The Rush?"

The answer is simple: If people see the actual details of the proposal they will understand it is a bad deal for the taxpayer and a great deal for Wall Street.

It is the very same mad rush to judgment that kicked of the War in Iraq. Does anyone remember talk of "mushroom clouds"? Does anyone remember Dick Cheney saying "We know where they are"? This week we see the same action from Paulson and Bernanke.

The only difference is the message this time is about "financial mushroom clouds". The rush is needed because if anyone looked at the deal they could see taxpayers being left holding the bag.

Break In The Ranks

Tonight we see an unprecedented break in the ranks from current Fed Governor Richard Fisher who says Bank Rescue Plan Would Worsen Fiscal 'Chasm'.

It is not often a Fed governor tells the Fed chairman to go to hell. But that is what happened just tonight.

Former Fed Governor William Poole has stated "These are grand ideas that cannot be executed. There will be one stumbling block after another. I am very leery of jumping in with emergency measures like this."

WTF moment, Israelis4Obama campaign

First of all, who do they think they are? I know who they are - far lefty Israelis.
Second, if you intend to vote - should you care what a few self appointed foreigners say? I believe real politicians around the world know better than to shove their noses in.
Third, what do they hope for? They hope to find a regime in the US which will pressure Israel to sign peace treaties. This is the crowd that fails to understand how horrible the Oslo accord was - and wants another one to be imposed on Israel.
Fourth, if you do care what Israelis and Jews think - consider the polls. They speak louder than empty words on a dumb video. Jewish democrats shun Obama - and for good reasons too. Uniting and dividing Jerusalem the next day is but one example, but his association with "former" terrorists is quite enough.

P.S.
What would you think of an "Israelis against Obama" ad? What about "Israelis for McCain"? Does that make you comfortable? How about "Iraqis for -----", or "Lithuanians for -----", "Cubans for ------", Guatemalans for.... you get my drift. (I hope)

Tom Tancredo, Two Great Bills (which will never be voted in); "UN Eviction Act" and "The Jihad Prevention Act"

Tom Tancredo represents the area of Littleton Colorado, I used to live there... Really miss it.

First: "The Jihad Prevention Act"
nternational reaction was almost uniformly negative last week when news broke that Britain had officially granted Muslim Sharia courts permission to rule on everything from divorce to domestic violence. After all, in its strictest form, Sharia law requires the stoning of women accused of adultery, and the execution of converts from Islam, among other draconian punishments for offences that aren’t even considered crimes in the West. In the U.K. and abroad, pundits and politicians denounced Britain’s capitulation, but only one elected official responded with a daring proposal aimed at preventing Sharia law from gaining such a foothold in America.

That that politician was Rep. Tom Tancredo won’t surprise observers of American politics. The Colorado congressman has long been an outspoken critic of the unofficial “open-borders” policy that encourages millions of undocumented immigrants – including would-be terrorists – to enter the U.S. each year. During his short-lived presidential campaign in 2007, Tancredo repeatedly raised the immigration issue during televised debates. He also aired a provocative television ad in which he promised to “stop all visas to nations that sponsor terrorism and [to] arrest and deport any alien who preaches violence and hatred.”

The ad earned Tancredo scorn on the Left and also on some parts of the Right. Undaunted, he has now proposed a “Jihad Prevention Act” that “would bar the entry of foreign nationals who advocate Sharia law [and] make the advocacy of Sharia law by radical Muslims already in the United States a deportable offense.” In his official announcement on September 18, Tancredo observed: “This is a case where truth is truly stranger than fiction. Today the British people are learning a hard lesson about the consequences of massive, unrestricted immigration.”

More here: tancredo.house.gov:Tancredo Proposes Anti-Sharia Measure in Wake of U.K. Certification of Islamic Courts

Second, this: Rep. Tom Tancredo Introduces "UN Eviction Act"...Would Direct AG to Sell all UN Properties and use Money to pay Down National debt.....
U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) introduced legislation today that would effectively move the United Nations headquarters out of the United States. The legislation is being introduced amid incessant anti-American and anti-Jewish political grandstanding from the podium of the General Assembly.

“The U.N. has coddled brutal dictators, anti-Semites, state sponsors of terrorism, and nuclear proliferators – while excluding democratic countries from membership and turning a blind eye to humanitarian tragedies and gross violations of human rights around the globe,” Tancredo said. “The U.N.’s continued presence in the United States is an embarrassment to our nation, and the time has come for this ineffective organization to pack its bags and hit the road.”

The United Nations is hosting dictators from around the world this week, including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran’s brutal dictator. His speech has drawn thousands of protestors in New York City.

More here.

About Representative Tom Tancredo (Wikipedia):
Thomas Gerard Tancredo (born December 20, 1945) is a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from Colorado's 6th congressional district.

Tancredo has been a member of the United States House of Representatives since 1999. Tancredo rose to national prominence for opposing illegal immigration. Tancredo won re-election against Democratic challenger Bill Winter by a 59%-40% margin in 2006. The district includes most of Denver's southern suburbs. He was a declared candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination who was known for his opposition to legal and illegal immigration.

Tancredo announced he was dropping out of the presidential race on his 62nd birthday on December 20, 2007.

Tancredo announced on October 28, 2007 that he will not seek re-election to his United States House of Representatives seat.

I should admit - when he said on a debate he was against legal immigration I was taken aback. So for Tancredo, this is a farewell, introduction of bills that should pass but will never be even considered.

Frontpagemag interview with William J. Murray about Iraqi Christian Refugees

Here's an interview on Frontpagemag.com with William J. Murray, the chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition in Washington, DC. About Murray:
During the early 1980's, he served as director of Freedom's Friends, an organization which reached out to the victims of communism worldwide. In the 1990's, he founded the first commercial Bible publishing company in the Soviet Union. For many years his organizations operated evangelistic tours to the Soviet Union for Christians.

From his office in Washington, D.C., Mr. Murray continues to work for the rights of Christians in America and persecuted Christians around the world. Under his guidance, the Religious Freedom Coalition assists Palestinian Christian families and supports Christian schools in the West Bank. He also directs aid to Iraqi Christian refugees who have fled Islamic extremism.

Here is an excerpts from the interview:
Frontpagemag.com:The Plight of Christians in Iraq
FP: The international community and media in general seem to be awfully disinterested when Muslims persecute Christians and other non-Muslims. Why?

Murray: It is just politically incorrect in left leaning media circles to write about the persecution of Christians. The media also turns a blind eye to slavery which openly exists in Muslim nations. The prejudice against Christianity within European and American news outlets is so great that any religion or philosophy such as Islam or atheism is viewed as a better alternative.

FP: Tell us more about the state of the Iraq refugee situation.

Murray: Literally millions of Iraqis, both Christian and Muslim, have fled to neighboring nations. Most Christians have fled to Syria, because it is the last truly secular nation in the Middle East. It is a secular dictatorship, as was Iraq before our invasion. The only safe place for Christians, Jews and other non-Muslims in the Middle East are secular dictatorships. President Carter destroyed the secular government in Iran. Iraq is in chaos and now Condi Rice has targeted the secular dictatorship in Syria, about the last safe place in the Middle East for non Muslims.

The condition of the refugees, particularly the Christians, is appalling. In Amman, Jordan there are no tent cities and no official refugee sites. Instead, as many as three or four families live in one apartment. Iraqis are forbidden to work in Jordan or Syria and often the children are put to work instead. Middle class women whose husbands were murdered in Iraq before they fled, have been forced into prostitution.

Read it all...

Do you know why the plight of Jews in Iraq is no longer relevant? Because most of them fled between 1944 to 1952, after Iraqi Muslims who idolized Hitler committed riots against them and looted their property. (Some Iraqis claim it was all an exaggeration created by Zionist agents trying to provoke Jews to leave, the relatives of those hanged in the streets of Baghdad beg to differ).

Murray is a bit delusional towards the Syrian treatment of Jews, most have fled between 1950 to 1970. Also, secular dictatorship are not the most friendly to non-Muslims and minorities, Israel is. Israel is a Jewish Democracy (and there's no conflict in these terms). If the demographic balance would erase the "Jewish" part of Israel's regime definition, it would be as hellish as Lebanon.

Regarding the criticism of Condi's pressure on Syria: I don't believe a regime change is what Syria needs - but it should definitely be forced to cease it's support of terror groups like Hezbollah and Hammas, and should never be allowed to possess Nuclear bombs. They tried to purchase some from N' Korea and were thwarted by Israel and the CIA. In places like the middle east, you should always be wary of who might replace the top guy of an evil pyramid.

Which leads me to write the following:

Why I continuously stand against US war in Iraq

I'm sorry, I just don't believe in Democracy in the Muslim world. It turns into Islamic republics with fake out elections. It turns into tribal disputes and civil wars. That was the case for Lebanon which scared away the majority of the Christian population, that was the case for Iran - where Carter pushed for "civil rights reform" which lead to the Islamic revolution, and the US's involvement in Iraq toppled a secular dictatorship (evil dictator, indeed) only to bring upon religious and tribal disputes which further undermine the stability of the region. The vision of democratizing the middle east was not short sighted - it was blind-sighted because it did not recognize of the nature of the people dwelling there.

You may disagree with that opinion on factual basis, but if you do so only because your party line says so - you are a political zombie, sorry. As much as Saddam was an evil troll, his replacement is not better. The US should never put it's own soldiers at risk to bring birth to a nation governed by Sharia. The US mission there right now is to diffuse and disband Al-Qaeda (while leaving the Shea militia alone as long as they stay relatively quiet). I hope the DIRECT involvement there ends soon after the election.

Why against supporting militarily and financially a nation governed by Sharia? Specifically because the regime then persecutes those who religiously are outside of the "acceptable range of beliefs". Even those who are "protected" (Dhimmi) - are protected after they pay ransom (Jizya). And even then heavy and unjust laws are stacked against them, making them less than second class citizens. The enforcement of Dhimmitude is a process of slow elimination of the culture of the Dhimmis which at most places used to be the dominant one prior to the invasion of Islam - or the dominance of Islam (Egypt, Nigeria, Malaysia for example).

A reminder to an overlooked issue:

Is it really surprising that European nations with barely any population of their own accept refugees who are labeled "Palestinian" and not Christians?

Newest terrorist tool BMW. Arab attempts to murder 15 people in Israel

Just when I thought those murderous SOB-s were quiet for while. Too quiet as it turns out.
10 wounded in terror attack at busy Jerusalem intersection
Ten people were wounded - one seriously, two moderately and seven lightly - on Monday night in a terror attack at a busy Jerusalem intersection.

Rescue services said an Arab driver plowed his pedestrians into a group of people at Zahal Square.

Police said the driver was shot and killed by citizens.

The intersection is near the Old City's Jaffa Gate.

Monday's attack was the third of its kind since July - where a terrorist used a vehicle as a weapon rather than a gun or a bomb. In late July, an Arab bulldozer driver from east Jerusalem rammed his construction vehicle into a city bus and several cars on a central thoroughfare in the capital, wounding 15 people before being shot dead by a Druse border police officer and a civilian passerby.

The early afternoon attack on King David Street was seen as a failed copy of July 2's lethal bulldozer rampage on Jaffa Road in which Husam Taysir Dwayat killed three people and wounded dozens before he was killed

My dumb questions:
Will Israel's government FINALLY do something against the terrorist's family who are apparently citizens of Israel again?

Will anyone interrogate the terrorist's Imam?

One thing is obvious - this is not a "spontaneous" action, it's the 3rd such attack of the same nature in Jerusalem. This is obviously orchestrated. There were 2 other different attacks were a gunman opened fire on teens at a Yeshiva, and an attempt to murder where only a security guard was hurt. In another recent incident - fires where shot at the old city of Jerusalem at soldiers and the perpetrator managed to escape.

This is the Muslim reply to Israeli good will gestures which included release of terrorists, and a special Ramadan dinner with Israeli president.

This is how Muslims say happy Rosh Hashana. This is what "peace" with the Palestinians is like.

CNN as a smear merchant claiming: "Palin's town charged women for rape exams"

Here's the real problem, if you read the title and the first couple of paragraphs - you fall for it. You believe that this vicious ex-mayor wants to punish rape victims. Heck - the comments section is filled with people with reading comprehension issues. I don't blame them, because CNN put this smear article on their front-page website.

I could mention that within the article, the smear is dispelled, but it would take CNN off the hook for deliberately tailoring an insignificant factoid as a big gotcha to meet the needs of their preferred candidate, and to smear Palin's record.

So I'll start by quoting the response from within the article:

In a statement, Jill Hazelbaker, communications director for Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign, said that "to imply that Gov. Palin is or has ever been an advocate of charging victims for evidence gathering kits is an utter distortion of reality."

"As her record shows, Gov. Palin is committed to supporting victims and bringing violent criminals to justice," Hazelbaker said. "She does not, nor has she ever believed that rape victims should have to pay for an evidence gathering test."
(You will find this closer to the end, of course)

This is at the very end of the article:
The McCain-Palin campaign insists that fighting domestic violence and sexual assault are priorities for Palin. And they say she has been looking at other programs to support. As governor, Palin approved a funding increase for domestic violence shelters -- $266,200 over two years. And she reauthorized a Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

This is somewhere in the middle:
Judy Patrick, who was Palin's deputy mayor and friend, blames the state.

"The bigger picture of what was going on at the time was that the state was trying to cut their own budget, and one of the things that they were doing was passing on costs to cities, and that was one of the many things that they were passing on, the cost to the city," said Patrick, who recalls enormous pressure to keep the city's budget down.

But the state was never responsible for paying the costs of local investigations. Patrick was also a member of Wasilla City Council, and she doesn't recall the issue coming before council members, nor does she remember discussing the issue with Palin.

She does recall Palin going through the budget in detail. She said Palin would review each department's budget line by line and send it back to department heads with her changes.

"Sarah is a fiscal conservative, and so she had seen that the city was heading in a direction of bigger projects, costing taxpayers more money, and she was determined to change that," Patrick said.

And here's CNN's first couple of paragraphs:
CNN: Palin's town charged women for rape exams
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's hometown required women to pay for their own rape examinations while she was mayor, a practice her police chief fought to keep as late as 2000.
A former Alaskan lawmaker says it seems unlikely that Gov. Sarah Palin was unaware of Wasilla's policy.

Former state Rep. Eric Croft, a Democrat, sponsored a state law requiring cities to provide the examinations free of charge to victims. He said the only ongoing resistance he met was from Wasilla, where Palin was mayor from 1996 to 2002.

"It was one of those things everyone could agree on except Wasilla," Croft told CNN. "We couldn't convince the chief of police to stop charging them."

Alaska's Legislature in 2000 banned the practice of charging women for rape exam kits -- which experts said could cost up to $1,000.

Palin, the Republican nominee for vice president, often talks about her experience running Wasilla, population approximately 7,000, and that has prompted close scrutiny of her record there. Wasilla's practice of charging victims for their rape exams while she was mayor has gotten wide circulation on the Internet and in the mainstream media.

Some supporters of Palin say they believe she had no knowledge of the practice. But critics call it "outrageous" and question Palin's commitment to helping women who are the victims of violence.

For years, Alaska has had the worst record of any state in rape and in murder of women by men. The rape rate in Alaska is 2.5 times the national average.

Interviews and a review of records turned up no evidence that Palin knew that rape victims were being charged in her town. But Croft, the former state representative who sponsored the law changing the practice, says it seems unlikely Palin was not aware of the issue.

"I find it hard to believe that for six months a small town, a police chief, would lead the fight against a statewide piece of legislation receiving unanimous support and the mayor not know about it," Croft said.

During the time Palin was mayor of Wasilla, her city was not the only one in Alaska charging rape victims. Experts testified before the Legislature that in a handful of small cities across Alaska, law enforcement agencies were charging victims or their insurance "more than sporadically."

Putting the facts backwards, giving disgruntled liars front and center stage... nice going CNN. The lowest of the lowest smears - on a major news outlet's front page!

Exit questions:
* Why wouldn't CNN or those who dug this story up in Obama's campaign/smear department come up with one person who claims he brought this issue up with Palin when she was Mayor?
* CNN shows the contrary, the chief of police was contacted by state legislator and refused. Where's that chief's response in the article? Is this fair reporting?
* I'm not saying that rape victims should reveal themselves to the public, it would be perfectly normal to anonymously claim to have been charged for the kit and to have complained to the mayor - with whatever response was given back from the mayor's office. Why hasn't any such evidence been presented? Even anonymously, while the details of the alleged rape victim known to the media yet withheld, a bill for the kit and some documentation of correspondence would be acceptable evidence.

More:
Some were outraged at SNL's sketch yesterday which had a joke about how the press can accuse Todd Palin with incest with his daughter without proof, but since there's no proof to the contrary - it's a worthy story. While the whole idea is despicable - I think it is clearly a joke about how the press is treating Palin, not an offense to her family. I think today's Palin smear is a demonstration of that: They have no proof, but CNN put it on the front page of the website - to stir some controversy regardless of the facts. I think at this point - SNL were spot on.

I know where Palin was this weekend, who knows/cares where Biden was?

She was in Florida, and gave an excellent speech (found it on hotair):

Notice how Palin doesn't stutter, doesn't read from a teleprompter (yes there's a cheat sheet written speech, pay attention that she peaks at it twice during the half hour speech) and doesn't nonchalantly say idiotic things like "paying taxes is patriotic". Now who's the better orator? Palin vs. both Obama and Biden?

If Biden said that "taxes=patriotism" idiocy more than once and in more than one location(and as the link above proves he did), that means that the Democratic speakers who denied he meant it and said it was "out of context" were, to put it mildly, "less than truthful". Imagine that... Concealing the agenda of the Obama/Biden ticket. Or are they? It depends on the crowd - which I think makes it just a wee bit worse. What's the obsession with collecting more taxes anyways? Is it written in a manifesto of the DNC somewhere - DNC stands for higher taxes? When did the DNC became the party in favor of wealth redistribution? As far as I can recall - that's Bolshevism.

The economy is crashing, what better solution than to elect a Socialist to fix it - just like Carter did?

The economy is crashing, what better solution than to elect a Socialist to fix it - just like Carter did?

Don't take my word for it, or O'Reily's word for it, or even Obama's lack of denial of it. It's in his roots.

So a week of slides in Wall Street, and some insane propaganda from Obama's CNN choir about starvation, and the polls start to tilt in favor of the youngster. Junior. Empty resume - big smile - no content - hope change and unicorns, who relies on advice from the people most responsible for this mess.

As much as wall-street was irrational and panicky yesterday morning, only to encounter a complete reversal of the market by the end of the day, and a follow through today - so has the public been in response to Wall Street's turmoil. Turn to be saved by the guy with least knowledge, experience and expertise - who admittedly is against capitalism. AGAINST CAPITALISM!!! He's against your right to seek financial success. Now that's a change I'd never/ever want - and if I did I'd move to Cuba. It just so happens I did choose to live in America. It really was a choice - and I stand by it. (and unlike Hollywood douche-bags, I won't leave even if the socialist wins).

I still believe that security and fight against Jihadists is a greater call than all the other so called "issues". I believe that the war to defeat Jihadism will never be definitively won, and every time we will try to appease those who seek to destroy western culture we will be punished harshly. To win - is to not allow them to strike you. It's a a daily battle. We do not seek to destroy their culture, or their population, just keep them at bay.

Thomas Jefferson fought the Islamic Jihadi Pirates - and won peace. Today's Jihadists have no central leadership - but a widespread idiology and the means to educate their masses through media and internet as well as written materials. We will never appease them, never subdue their intents. Electing a guy who wishes to "talk to Iran" just like Madeline Albright talked to north Korea will bring upon the world a disaster which cannot be undone.

Everybody loves Raymond brother actor HATES Palin, calls her Redneck White Trash

Bonus, he'll leave the country if McCain wins. So people, let's make sure he leaves the country... Europe - here he comes - what's his name from that show.

Jimmy Kimmel Live - Jimmy Kimmel Live 9/16: Brad Garrett against Palin, Palin is a redneck white trash

After opening and installing, jump to 18:25 minutes into the clip.
White trash in the white house, we're only months away.

It seems people in Hollywood can't help themselves, she wasn't the topic, it just came out as a natural item of conversation.

Here's a tip, if you threatened to leave in 2004, 2000, 1988, 1984 and 1980 - and you're still here, do us a favor and spare us your empty promises. First leave - then explain why.

Experience counts - but how dumb are lefties whining about Palin's foreign policy experience?

First, let's listen again to Clinton's supporter at the DNC convention, and remember she is talking about Obama's experience:

(This was linked here before, but I'm trying to make a point)
  • Obama's running for president, Palin for VP. Who's lack of experience should we worry about more?
  • Obama with less experience and foriegn policy knowledge than Palin, still lefties cannot help themselves and continue to voice doubts about Palin's - not Obama.
  • Most presidents in the last 100 years had little or no foreign policy experience. But none had a resume as thin as Obama's. How much of an idiot are you to question a VP's experience and not your own candidate's?
  • By attacking Palin and not McCain - is that an admission that McCain is going to be a great president in a comparison with Obama?

Well, keep these points in mind when you read this, about a so called "conservative republican" whose campaigning for Obama:
Hagel questions Palin experience
Sarah Palin has energized the Republican base since John McCain picked her as his vice-presidential running mate, but one prominent Republican is not impressed.

Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel, a Republican, is questioning whether Palin has enough foreign-policy experience to serve as the country’s second-in-command. “She doesn’t have any foreign policy credentials,” Hagel told the Omaha World-Herald. “You get a passport for the first time in your life last year? I mean, I don’t know what you can say. You can’t say anything.”

“I think they ought to be just honest about it and stop the nonsense about, ‘I look out my window and I see Russia and so therefore I know something about Russia,” he added. “That kind of thing is insulting to the American people.”

A conservative Vietnam War veteran and outspoken critic of the Iraq War, Hagel has cultivated a reputation as somebody unafraid to buck his party.

Hagel traveled with Democratic candidate Barack Obama to Afghanistan in July and was mentioned as a possible Obama running mate. He had kind words for Obama’s eventual pick, Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden.

“An Obama-Biden ticket is a very impressive and strong team,” Hagel said in August

Huh? Impressive and strong? In comparison with what?

I was talking with my wife about how many Democrats crossed over recently in support of McCain(here, here and here... also here), and I haven't seen any crossing to support Obama. Well - he's been found. I don't want to denigrate him personally, just to point out to the unabridged flaw in his argument; Palin's experience in contrast to Obama. America will be the judge, if the public would care to look beyond the rhetoric and into the facts.

P.S.
Let's not forget a prominent Democrat Senator who gave a speech at the GOP convention:
Joe-Lieberman

British "Democracy" in Israel

I'm not sure if this is the first time this has happened in Israel (or anywhere else), that a prime minister is elected in a "primaries". I know that in England, Brown replaced Blair without an election, but I've never heard of a situation where a prime minister in Israel is replaced by someone through a primaries without there being a general election. Am I the only one who sees something wrong with that?

Even Shimon Peres declared elections after Rabin's assassination.

I can't understand what kind of a mandate does a politician have to rule a country if he was never put to a general election vote. Olmert will be out tomorrow, not a moment too soon. Whoever will replace him, from the same party, should declare a new election and disperse the Knesset (parliament). The same holds true to Brown in England. In a democratic society, there's no room for a "selected" ruler - only an elected one. (At least Obama will be held to a general election, despite being "selected" at the primaries).

CNN Brings the hate on McCain

Showbiz-tonight continue their line of attack against the GOP, here's the video:

Host: Cindy says the "View" is out of touch with America?! Which is a little ODD TO ME!!!
Lauren Lake: What was illuminated by that line of questioning is how out of touch Cindy McCain is with America. If she feels her bones were picked clean implies she has some meat on her bones. MOST AMERICANS ARE STARVING.

Raving lunatics on that show. Again. CNN's showbiz tonight is more of a "CNN we hate Republican's wives" than a showbiz show. Again I'll ask who are these people on the panels on CNN's showbiz-show? Last time I asked that, it turned out that the panelist was a pro-Obama black racist.

Here's what I think about CNN's "Show-biz-show": All 3 panelists are in-love with the harpies on the View, and expose much hate for Cindy McCain. AMERICANS ARE STARVING?! - give me a break.

Obama - already worse than Carter - interferes with US diplomacy and war in Iraq before elected

I wanted to stop posting about US politics for a while, because I felt I was drifting into areas which I hadn't intended for this site. I had to post this today. This, in my opinion, could be one of the biggest things to happen thus far. Who is elected in November will have great impact in the war against Jihadists (falsely called a war on terror). Obama's recent actions are just too dangerous to disregard.

Found this on Hotair.com:

AFP:Obama camp hits back at Iraq double-talk claim
In the New York Post, conservative Iranian-born columnist Amir Taheri quoted Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari as saying the Democrat made the demand when he visited Baghdad in July, while publicly demanding an early withdrawal.

“He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington,” Zebari said in an interview, according to Taheri.

“However, as an Iraqi, I prefer to have a security agreement that regulates the activities of foreign troops, rather than keeping the matter open,” Zebari reportedly said. …

Obama’s national security spokeswoman Wendy Morigi said Taheri’s article bore “as much resemblance to the truth as a McCain campaign commercial.”

In fact, Obama had told the Iraqis that they should not rush through a “Strategic Framework Agreement” governing the future of US forces until after President George W. Bush leaves office, she said.

I don't have much to add - I don't care about the beckering on whether or not a reporter was truthful, not truthful enough, or "took it out of context". Although I'm not a lawyer - or an expert on US constitution, I believe the following statement by Ed Morrissey to be spot on:

The Senate should investigate this as a gross violation of the Constitution and the separation of powers between the branches of government.

We can bet that this Senate, won't do Jack Sh@@, Democrat control senate would not investigate their presidential candidate two months before an election. Because justice is not what this Senate is all about.

I know that today the economy takes center stage in the news and the electoral discussion, but to me diplomacy and security sound like a bigger issue. Politicians can talk all they want, they didn't build Wall Street, they never changed it. SEC regulations are violated daily and there hadn't been a senate hearing in ages. The Obama camp can throw mud at McCain all they want about the economy, some will buy into that - but there are greater issues at hand.

Experience matters - demagogy should be penalized, and crossing constitutional separations should be severely reprimanded.

More at Weasel Zippers and national-review.com: McCain: Why the Fu@@ did Obama try and Delay the Withdrawal of US Forces From Iraq?......
At this point, it is not yet clear what official American negotiations Senator Obama tried to undermine with Iraqi leaders, but the possibility of such actions is unprecedented. It should be concerning to all that he reportedly urged that the democratically-elected Iraqi government listen to him rather than the US administration in power. If news reports are accurate, this is an egregious act of political interference by a presidential candidate seeking political advantage overseas. Senator Obama needs to reveal what he said to Iraq's Foreign Minister during their closed door meeting. The charge that he sought to delay the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq raises serious questions about Senator Obama's judgment and it demands an explanation.

As mentioned above, Obama's camp revealed - and it's not any better than what Taheri suggested.

Tutu and UN heart Terrorists, hate Jews

Nobel peace prize laureate fails to see how this is a war crime, not to mention relevant:

Or this:

But recommends Israel pays for "war crimes", for a single retaliatory misfire:
AFP:Israel's shelling of Beit Hanoun a 'possible' war crime: UN report
Israel's shelling of the Gaza village of Beit Hanoun in November 2006 that killed 19 Palestinian civilians may constitute a war crime and the victims should receive compensation, a UN report said Monday.

"In the absence of a well-founded explanation from the Israeli military... the mission must conclude that there is a possibility that the shelling of Beit Hanoun constituted a war crime," said the report of a fact-finding mission headed by South African Nobel laureate Desmond Tutu.

The former South African archbishop and anti-apartheid activist will present his report, which also condemns Palestinian attacks on Israel, to the UN Human Rights Council on Thursday.

He was mandated by the Council in November 2006 to investigate the incident but only managed to visit Gaza via Egypt in May this year after the Israelis refused three previous attempts to access the coastal strip via their territory.

Following an internal investigation, Israel concluded that shelling the civilians' homes was "a rare and grave technical error of the artillery radar system," and announced in February that no charges would be brought against Israeli forces involved in the incident.

But Tutu's report said that the "Israeli response of a largely secret internal military investigation is absolutely unacceptable from both legal and moral points of view."

"The mission recommends that the State of Israel pay victims adequate compensation without delay," it added.

Tutu also condemned rocket fire by Palestinian militants based in Gaza against Israeli civilians and said the Islamist Hamas movement in power in the coastal strip was responsible for ensuring it ceased.

"Those in positions of authority in Gaza have not only an international humanitarian law obligation to respect international humanitarian law norms relating to the protection of civilians, but also a responsibility to ensure that these norms are respected by others," the report said.

Recommend Israel will pay compensation, despite not talking to a single victim of terror or the people who did misfire the missile. No recommendation on what should happen to those who deliberately daily bombarded Israeli civilians, including over this weekend. It's like asking Holocaust victims to pay compensation to German soldiers who were mentally afflicted by guarding the concentration camps.

Israel refused to assist the antisemitic UN envoy. I'm sure the UN paid handsomely to Tutu and his friends for this "facts" finding mission, who financed that payment? Isn't it time to stop funding this sinkhole of basic decency?

Fact find this UN:

Or this:

Fact find the 1000+ Israeli casualties of Arab terror from 2000 to today... as if Tutu cares. In my view, by making his statement today, he took part in the war on Sderot and Ashkelon. The UN is a tool in the war on Israeli civilians. The UN is responsible for war crimes - by funding and feeding UNRAW and the PA which feed the terrorists. The UN should pay compensation to Israel's victims of terror, which no one cares to identify as a war crime.

Did ABC edit the interview to deliberately portray Palin in a bad way?

An excellent post at News-Busters, and even more background from Hotair.

Here's a very important missing piece, one which would have made an international impact - opposite to the hostile one created by the NATO remarks, the power of manipulation at the hands of irresponsible journalists:

GIBSON: Let’s start, because we are near Russia, let’s start with Russia and Georgia.

The administration has said we’ve got to maintain the territorial integrity of Georgia. Do you believe the United States should try to restore Georgian sovereignty over South Ossetia and Abkhazia?

PALIN: First off, we’re going to continue good relations with Saakashvili there. I was able to speak with him the other day and giving him my commitment, as John McCain’s running mate, that we will be committed to Georgia. And we’ve got to keep an eye on Russia. For Russia to have exerted such pressure in terms of invading a smaller democratic country, unprovoked, is unacceptable and we have to keep…

GIBSON: You believe unprovoked.

PALIN: I do believe unprovoked and we have got to keep our eyes on Russia, under the leadership there. I think it was unfortunate. That manifestation that we saw with that invasion of Georgia shows us some steps backwards that Russia has recently taken away from the race toward a more democratic nation with democratic ideals. That’s why we have to keep an eye on Russia.

And, Charlie, you’re in Alaska. We have that very narrow maritime border between the United States, and the 49th state, Alaska, and Russia. They are our next door neighbors. We need to have a good relationship with them. They’re very, very important to us and they are our next door neighbor

Was I the only one who felt Charles Gibson was a condescending prick? An A-Hole looking down as if he's a professor quizzing the worst student in the class to make him quit? Apparently, there's proof to how big of an unemphatic prick he was. Hotair dug up questions given to Obama and Edwards when he was selected as VP, both with absolutely no experience to speak of at anything buy campaigning:
Obama interview:
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to “win”?
How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?

Edwards:
GIBSON: You speak with such equanimity this morning. Didn’t they make you mad last night?

EDWARDS: Oh, I thought they were over the top, completely over the top. And, and actually what bothered me more than anything was in the midst of -I mean, there was, if you, if you got up and went to your refrigerator to get a Diet Coke, you would -you would miss everything Dick Cheney had to say about health care and everything he had to say about jobs. I mean, this is the first, we’ve had 11 straight presidents in this country, Charlie, who have created jobs. This is, until George Bush. You know, we’ve got all these folks who are having trouble with their health care premiums going up, 26, 27 hundred dollars, and what do they have to say about it? Nothing. I mean, don’t people deserve to know from their president and vice president what it is they’ve done and what it is they’re going to do? And instead, all we hear is a lot of rhetoric about, about their opponent. I mean, I just think leaders in this country, the American people deserve leaders who are better than that and do better than that.

GIBSON: Did you get mad, though?

EDWARDS: Oh, yeah. I was, I was, especially about the personal attacks against John Kerry, because they’re false. I know this guy and I know what he’s made of inside and he’s ready to lead this country.

And here's an example of the type of questions given to Palin:
Palin interview:
Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Aren’t you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
Questions about foreign policy
-territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
-NATO treaty
-Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
-Al Qaeda motivations
-the Bush Doctrine
-attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin]

All details of interviews from news-busters and hotair

I think she did an excellent job answering the interrogation. It was not an interview, it was an interrogation.

Is it sexist to ask you how will you deal with the job and the kids?

Really, Gibson, are you really a journalist or have you just lost all credibility?

Keeping it classy at Huffington Post

Michael Seitzman: Sarah Palin Naked (link fixed...)
She said "nucular." Twice.

I realized three things tonight. For one, if you are a McCain/Palin/Bush voter, you and I do not have a difference of opinion. We have a difference in brain power. Two, she really is as ignorant as I feared. And, three, she really is kinda hot. Basically, I want to have sex with her on my Barack Obama sheets while my wife reads aloud from the Constitution. (My wife is cool with this if I promise to "first wipe off Palin's tranny makeup." I married well.)

Now, I want to be clear and speak directly to those of you who LOVED that Palin interview. You're an idiot. I mean that. This is not one of those cases where we're going to agree to disagree. This isn't one of those situations where we debate it passionately and then walk away thinking that the other guy is wrong but argued well. I'm not going to think of you as a thoughtful but misguided person with different ideas who still really cares about the country and the world. No, sorry, not this time. This time, if you watched those interview excerpts and weren't scared out of your freakin' mind, then you're mentally ill, mentally disabled, or mentally disturbed. What you are NOT is responsible, informed, curious, thoughtful, mature, educated, empathetic, or remotely serious. I mean it.

But I like to think that anyone can change.

Stop voting for people you want to have a beer with. Stop voting for folksy. Stop voting for people who remind you of your neighbor. Stop voting for the ideologically intransigent, the staggeringly ignorant, and the blazingly incompetent.

Vote for someone smarter than you. Vote for someone who inspires you. Vote for someone who has not only traveled the world but who has also shown a deep understanding and compassion for it. The stakes are real and they're terrifyingly high. This election matters. It matters. It really matters. Let me say that one more time. This. Really. Matters.
My notes:
  • What brain power does a person have if all his arguments can be summed with a "you're stupid" to his counter-party? It doesn't matter how fluent and eloquently you put it - all he said was, we're smart - you're stupid.
  • Classy sexual references. No need for a call of sexism, just ass hole would suffice.
  • I suppose some will say "it's all in sarcasm, in humor". If your preference for "humor" is calling other people stupid, then perhaps you should switch the channel from "ouch my balls" for a while. It's at the same level as "you're gay" remarks.
  • Let the hate pour out - a dude criticizing a VP nominee for "tranny makeup". First "she's hot", then she's a transsexual for him. Anyone wants to criticize some democrat female politicians that way? See how that flies...
Michael Sietzman - your brain power truly transcends us humans by so much... err, what achievements has your brain power reached to brag about? Tranny spotting? No - he's a script writer in Hollywood - far better than all those other "mentally disabled, idiots":
Michael Seitzman wrote North Country, the critically acclaimed drama starring Charlize Theron, and based on the bookClass Action, by Clara Bingham and Laura Leedy Gansler. He recently adapted Mary Doria Russel's sci-fi classic The Sparrow to star Brad Pitt, as well as Robert Ludlum's The Chancellor Manuscript with Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role. Next is an adaptation of Brandt Goldstein's book Storming the Court which Seitzman is also directing. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
Michael, if this election truly matters so much as you put it, try to point out to real items next time instead of "she's ignorant" and "you're stupid for supporting her".

There's hope? The Death of OPEC....

247wallst.com: The Death Of OPEC
Saudi Arabia walked out on OPEC yesterday. It said it would not honor the cartel's production cut. It was tired of rants from Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and the well-dressed oil minister from Iran.

As the world's largest crude exporter, the kingdom in the desert took its ball and went home.

As the Saudis left the building the message was shockingly clear. According to The New York Times, “Saudi Arabia will meet the market’s demand,” a senior OPEC delegate said. “We will see what the market requires and we will not leave a customer without oil."

OPEC will still have lavish meetings and a nifty headquarters in Vienna, Austria, but the Saudis have made certain the the organization has lost its teeth. Even though the cartel argued that the sudden drop in crude as due to "over-supply", OPEC's most powerful member knows that the drop may only be temporary. Cold weather later this year could put pressure on prices. So could a decision by Russia that it wants to "punish" the US and EU for a time. That political battle is only at its beginning.

The downward pressure on oil got a second hand. Brazil has confirmed another huge oil deposit to add to one it discovered off-shore earlier this year. The first field uncovered by Petrobras has the promise of being one of the largest in the world. That breadth of that deposit has now expanded.

OPEC needs that Saudis to have any credibility in terms of pricing, supply, and the ongoing success of its bully pulpit. By failing to keep its most critical member it forfeits its leverage.

OPEC has made no announcement to the effect that it is dissolving, but the process is already over.

So from a political perspective, I don't presume Saudis began acting rationally just because our president Bush asked them to, it's more of a rapture between Saudis to the rest of the crazies on OPEC - namely Venezuelan and Iran.

The day that redifined the world

It's not that Islamic Jihadism wasn't there. It's not that people didn't know a thing about terror. 7 years ago, Muslims made it clear to non-Muslims in an unambiguous day that all previous excuses for terror were meaningless and deceitful. Islamic Jihad murders people to achieve only one goal - murder people. It took time for some to comprehend - you can't claim to be a religious of peace and justify murder. Today, 7 years ago, 3000 innocent soles were taken here in America. On 9/11 2001 - many in the western world were rightfully (and finally) horrified with Islamic Jihadism and found that there's no reasoning with Jihadists. 9/11 redefined our world, it just takes some people more time to comprehend. Since then many in Spain and England did have their rude awakening as well. There's no appeasing, peace will not be achieved by groveling to the aggressor.

Youtube and CBS remove McCain webad, excuses are made

Youtube and CBS find excuses to remove McCain Ad....
Ben Smith of politico: CBS takes down McCain webad, suggests it's 'misleading'
YouTube has removed a webad that casts Sarah Palin as the victim of sexism on the request of CBS, whose anchor Katie Couric was featured in the ad.

“One of the great lessons of that campaign is the continued and accepted role of sexism in American life," Couric is quoted in the ad.

In the original clip, she was talking about Hillary Clinton; the ad applies her words to Sarah Palin.

Asked about the ad, CBS spokeswoman Leigh Farris said, "CBS News does not endorse any candidate in the Presidential race. Any use of CBS personnel in political advertising that suggests the contrary is misleading."

YouTube's page displaying the ad now tells visitors, "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by CBS Interactive Inc."

Couric's original commentary can be seen here. McCain still has the ad, "Lipstick," on his website.

So... It's just fine when Couric criticizes Obama's camp about sexism while campaigning against Clinton, but CBS won't allow their words to be used against Obama when Palin is in question. No bias.

Arabs expelled from Iraq - accepted as refugees in Iceland

Iceland... Let's call them Palestinians and blame Israel for Arabs refusal to resettle Arab refugees. Arabs - who were born in Iraq, and are unwelcome in Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia for some untold obscure reason...
Iraq Palestinians head to Iceland
About 30 Palestinians living in a refugee camp in the desert region along the Iraqi-Syrian border are due to leave for resettlement in Iceland.

The UN refugee agency says the group, mostly women and children, has been living under canvas for the past two years in extremely harsh conditions.

There are about 2,300 Palestinians encamped in the desert region unable to gain entry to Syria.

Iceland takes 25-30 refugees per year, mostly vulnerable women and children.

Temperatures in the border refugee camps reach 50 degrees Celsius in the summer and dip below freezing during winter.

Wouldn't they feel more at home and within their culture in the Middle East? Why should Iceland or Sweden care for them and non in the Arab world?

This situation is the continuation of 1948 only in the sense that Arabs refuse to accept their brothers and help out refugees or any other humanitarian cause, except families of suicide bombers. It will never end unless Arab countries start dismantling the so called "refugee camps" and start giving citizenship and rights to Arabs born in their own country. Blaming others for these problems will never solve them. Those are human beings, "Palestinian" Arabs are Arabs and are related to the rest of the Arab world - accept them, and stop support for violence.
The Palestinian refugee crisis dates back to the first Arab-Israeli war of 1948 when hundreds of thousands fled or were driven from their homes in what became Israel.

BBC - still manage to blame Israel for this. "Homes in what became Israel", classy. What about "homes in what became Iraq"?

Race baiting and pro Obama advocacy at CNN

I was wondering yesterday who that guy at CNN's entertainment show was, now I know, and I wonder even more why he was interviewed in an entertainment show.

In his column on CNN, Roland Martin tries to tell voters not to vote for or against someone because of the color of his skin. That's his point and the reason to write the column. The problem is - that to make his point he cannot help but expose his own view of everything through a color of a person's skin.

CNN: Commentary: Race, age, gender are taboo in election
One of the most intriguing conversations I had at either the Democratic or Republican convention was with a white labor leader from Ohio.

I can't remember his name
, but he made it clear that he is going all around the Rust Belt state looking his white union brothers and sisters in the eye and essentially shaming them into supporting Sen. Barack Obama for president.

Nice start, a white guy - I can't remember his name. Switch the colors and see if it sounds racist to you.

No, he's not saying vote for the black man for president because he's black.

He said he's telling them that it's shameful that as Democrats, they agree with him on various political issues, but because of his skin color, they are refusing to cast ballots for him.

Shameless lie. Democrats aren't supporting Obama because he's black?! This guy lives in dreamland of racial hatred, and wants us all to feel "ashamed" for his delusions.
"We have gone to our black brothers and sisters for years to support our [white] candidates, and it's wrong for us to stand here and not support one of their own, even though we're Democrats," he barked.

There is nothing more in-your-face than to hear someone speak truthfully to the inherent racism that is at play in this election.

If it's such a "truth", then why is the Obama campaign (CNN "employee"), come up with imaginary nameless people? The only racism in this campaign is from guys like Roland Martin, and from people who will vote ONLY BECAUSE OBAMA IS BLACK!

For all the talk about inclusion and the historic nature of this campaign, the true tribal feelings of so many people will come into play, whether we want to admit it or not.

...

I don't want to read further. I'm not saying this guy is stupid, simply a liar and a racist with a nationwide stage given by CNN. CNN - The peddlers of racism and advocacy for Obama.

Update
Couldn't help it, read further, more racism:
Because Sen. John McCain is 72 and would be the oldest person to be sworn in as president, there is a lot of dialogue about how old this white guy is, and how wrong it is that he's running. Age questions also have been raised about the 47-year-old black guy from Chicago and whether he is too young and inexperienced to lead.

What kind of a person says "this old white guy"? This white guy, that black guy... this person has no views, only color of a skin to think of. He's saying it's everybody else saying that - funny thing, it's him who's saying it, not others.
So what do we do when it comes to our tendency to follow group identification?

1. Stop dancing around the topic. When you watch TV and hear folks talk about Wal-Mart moms or small, rural towns, they are talking about white Americans. These catch phrases never include African-Americans or Hispanics.

Argument #1 - stop talking about white people, Martin cares about non-whites only.
2. Confront bias where it is. Ask your friends, neighbors, co-workers and church members who they are voting for. When they give you the "I really can't put my finger on it" line, then press them. Hard. You know the real answer, so don't beat around the bush. The best folks to challenge Americans on their hang-ups regarding age, race and gender aren't the AARP, NAACP or NOW. It's Y-O-U. Don't give in to the "That's the way I was raised" mantra. When someone suggests that flags and faith show that a candidate isn't one of us, drill down

Advocate for MY candidate. Call them racists and tribalists. If they don't vote my way - it's because "That's the way I was raised mantra". Drill down, Martin is shameless.

Foxnews.com: Obama Accuses McCain Campaign of ‘Swift Boat Politics’

Lipstick-gate?!

Ad removed from you-tube, still at McCain's site:Web Ad: Lipstick

Every time a democrat is in deep - deep trouble, he claims to be swift-boated. While to Democrats that might mean loosing the election to their nemesis, to others it has a completely different meaning. To republicans it means: "Telling the truth about a Democrat to the point where that politician looses a campaign". Democrats insinuate that they are being wrongfully accused.

Here's an old column by Ann Coulter: "Hillary, Swiftboated! "
Hillary is being "swiftboated"!

She claimed that she came under sniper fire when she visited in Bosnia in 1996, but was contradicted by videotape showing her sauntering off the plane and stopping on the tarmac to listen to a little girl read her a poem.

Similarly, John Kerry's claim to heroism in Vietnam was contradicted by 264 Swift Boat Veterans who served with him. His claim to having been on a secret mission to Cambodia for President Nixon on Christmas 1968 was contradicted not only by all of his commanders -- who said he would have been court-martialed if he had gone anywhere near Cambodia -- but also the simple fact that Nixon wasn't president on Christmas 1968.

In Hillary's defense, she probably deserves a Purple Heart about as much as Kerry did for his service in Vietnam.

Also, unlike Kerry, Hillary acknowledged her error, telling the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "I was sleep-deprived, and I misspoke." (What if she's sleep-deprived when she gets that call on the red phone at 3 a.m., imagines a Russian nuclear attack and responds with mutual assured destruction? Oops. "It proves I'm human.")

The reason no one claims Hillary is being "swiftboated" is that the definition of "swiftboating" is: "producing irrefutable evidence that a Democrat is lying." And for purposes of her race against matinee idol B. Hussein Obama, Hillary has become the media's honorary Republican.

In liberal-speak, only a Democrat can be swiftboated. Democrats are "swiftboated"; Republicans are "guilty." So as an honorary Republican, Hillary isn't being swiftboated; she's just lying.

Here's today's fox news piece (the link is labeled on the url line as pig-fight, nice touch foxnews):
Barack Obama responded Wednesday to the McCain campaign’s call for an apology concerning his pig on a lipstick remarks, by calling the controversy “phony and foolish” and defended it as an “innocent remark” that was taken out of context.

Obama said his remarks were meant to compare the policies of McCain to those of President Bush, and were in no way a reference to Republican vice presidential Sarah Palin.

Obama accused the McCain campaign of “lies and phony outrage and Swift-boat politics” and said the “made-up controversy” was “cat nip for the news media.”

The Republican National Committee and John McCain’s campaign released a Web ad Wednesday seeking to exploit Barack Obama’s use of an expression about dressing up a pig with lipstick, which the GOP claims was a personal attack on vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

The Web ad, called “Lipstick,” builds on McCain’s mobilization of its “Palin Truth Squad,” which on Tuesday accuse Obama of comparing McCain’s running mate to a pig and called on him to apologize.

The “Truth Squad” — composed of dozens of McCain supporters as a way to counter attacks on the Alaska governor — launched its first objection just a couple hours after Obama drew the pig analogy when describing his opponents before a Lebanon, Va., crowd.

“John McCain says he’s about change, too, and so I guess his whole angle is, ‘Watch out George Bush.’ Except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics … That’s not change. That’s just calling something the same thing, something different,” Obama said.

“But you know … you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. You know, you can … wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, it’s still going to stink after eight years.”

The colorful cosmetic has become a political buzzword, thanks to Palin’s joke in her acceptance speech that lipstick is the only thing that separates a hockey mom like her from a pit bull.

McCain’s campaign called Obama’s comments “offensive and disgraceful” and said he owes Palin an apology.

Obama’s campaign said the “lipstick on a pig” expression — frequently used in Washington D.C. — wasn’t referring to Palin, and GOP outrage is “a pathetic attempt to play the gender card.”

The common analogy is “the same analogy that Senator McCain himself used about Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s health care plan just last year. This phony lecture on gender sensitivity is the height of cynicism and lays bare the increasingly dishonorable campaign John McCain has chosen to run,” said Obama campaign senior adviser Anita Dunn.

The Obama campaign swiftly circulated a 2007 article that quoted McCain using the term “lipstick on a pig” to refer to a health care proposal from Hillary Clinton.

Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki also noted that Obama too has used the expression before — to criticize the troop surge in Iraq.

“I think that both General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker are capable people who have been given an impossible assignment,” Obama told The Washington Post in September 2007. “George Bush has given a mission to General Petraeus, and he has done his best to try to figure out how to put lipstick on a pig.”

But McCain supporter Jane Swift, former Republican governor of Massachusetts, said the line was clearly directed at the Alaska governor.

It was “pretty clear to the crowd that he was leveling” the insult at Palin, she said.

“It’s clear to me … that Senator Obama owes Governor Palin an apology,” Swift said, calling Obama’s comments “disgraceful.”

She said, “This is just the latest in a series of comments that many folks like me will find offensive.”

Indeed earlier in the day, Missouri Rep. Russ Carnahan, appearing at a speech by Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden, said that Palin is “someone with zero experience in national government, zero experience in foreign affairs. There’s no way you can dress up that record, even with a lot of lipstick.”

A questioner at the Virginia event also asked Obama to join Republicans and agree that candidates’ families and religion are off limits. Palin’s pregnant teenage daughter and the teachings of her church, the nondenominational Wasilla Bible Church, have been the subject of scrutiny since McCain picked her as his running mate.

Obama responded that he already has said families are off limits and he’s very protective of his daughters, 10-year-old Malia and 7-year-old Sasha. He said he doesn’t want their inevitable future mistakes to become newspaper fodder if he gets to the White House.

He stressed that he’s a Christian and “so the fact that Governor Palin is deeply religious, that’s a good thing.” He said poking around in her religion or saying it’s wrong is “offensive” and he wants to have a debate about the issues.

“But don’t give people some sort of religious litmus test because I don’t want somebody to question my faith and I’m certainly not going to question somebody else’s,” he said.

I think the funniest thing about it all was said by the blogger Weasel Zippers:
either he's a f@@@@ idiot (and therefore unqualified to run the country) or he's an asshole....take your pick

Mike Huckabee on Hannity and Colmes yesterday was more subtle; wasn't using any profanity, he said he believes Obama didn't refer to Palin because he gives him the credit of not being a complete idiot.

Others suggested the next lines of the speech were as offensive, calling McCain an old fish that's going to stink. Seriously - that's the level of the campaign right now.

CNN wants us to know that "Enough is Enough":
Barack Obama accused the McCain campaign of "lies" and "Swift boat" politics Wednesday, after nearly a day of claims his 'lipstick on a pig' comment was a sexist attack leveled at GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin.

"Spare me the phony outrage. Spare me the phony talk about change," Obama said at the start of an education event in Virginia. "We have real problems in this country right now. The American people are looking to us for answers, not distractions, not diversions, not manipulations. They want real answers to the real problems we are facing.

"I don't care what they say about me. But I love this country too much to let them take over another election with lies and phony outrage and swift boat politics," he also said. "Enough is enough."
...

UPDATE: Responding to Obama's comments, McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said, "Barack Obama can’t campaign with schoolyard insults and then try to claim outrage at the tone of the campaign."

"His talk of new politics is as empty as his campaign trail promises, and his record of bucking his party and reaching across the aisle simply doesn’t exist," Rogers also said.

Right on CNN - enough's enough... stop making a big something out of nothing. Hypocrites.

What the heck is so offending to CNN by Hasslebeck?

All she said was that Michelle Obama came with a list of topics not allowed to touch on the "view"... roll the drums and thunders, throw in some Hannity bashing. CNN is engaged in manufacturing rage.

Pearls of wisdom: "Hasslebeck gets her info from Sean little ball of hateread, that's what you expect". (giggles in the background)

"Showbiz tonight viewers called CNN and asked Hasslebeck be reprimanded by the view".

"Do you think she should be fired for breaking an unwritten rule about talking about what's going on behind stage?"

"I'm not a fan of her, but she shouldn't be fired. Wait did I say that?" Thunderous laughter.

My exit question: Who are these people? Should anyone care what they think, including the stern faced looking host? Did CNN ever question anything the other View ladies did and say - anything?! Amazingly stupid. Another hoo-haa out of nothing.

Obama on O'Reilly, Socialism is neighborliness

Obama on O'Reilly, Socialism is neighborliness... I don't have the clip, but I heard it. He said that if "I'm sitting fine, and a waitress isn't - taking more from my pay to pay her is neighborly". It wasn't in that order, but it was said. O'Reilly pressed him - that's socialism, he tried to convince us that it's the "neighborly thing to do".

I'm not dreaming, he's a candidate of the socialist ticket. Unbelievable.
Update
Thanks to reader Tom, here's the video, you judge:

Palestinians were tortured and murdered in Israeli prison. By Hamas

Perhaps when we look now at the stories on TV on how N' Vietnam used to torture US's POW including presidential hopeful McCain, we can think of elsewhere in the world where torture is still all too frequent - and no one wastes a word to denounce.

MEMRI:Mus'ab Hassan Yousef, Son of a West Bank Hamas Leader: Atrocities Committed by Hamas Led Me to Convert to Christianity

Following are excerpts from an interview with Mus'ab Hassan Yousef, the son of West Bank Hamas leader Sheik Hassan Yousef, which aired on Al-Hayat TV on August 19, 2008:

Mus'ab Hassan Yousef: My name is Mus'ab Hassan Yousef. I am the eldest son of Sheik Hassan Yousef. I was born in the village of Bir Zeit, near Ramallah.

[...]

Yousef: My father began his Islamic activity from the very beginning by founding the [Palestinian branch] of the Muslim Brotherhood, by preaching to join it, and by recruiting young Muslim men for the sake of Allah and Islam.

[...]

Yousef: To be honest, I hated the occupation. I hated every Israeli soldier carrying a gun and every settler. I threw stones, and I participated in the Intifada in all its forms. Call it peaceful activity if you like, or call it violence, but I participated in the Intifada in most of its forms. This included throwing stones, burning tires, and so on – activities in which most of the youth took part. I was a child, not even a young man, in that period, which lasted six years. I used to go to the mosque all the time. When I was five, I fasted for the first time in the month of Ramadhan. Until my conversion to Christianity, I used to fast during the entire month of Ramadhan.

[...]

Yousef: I did not know that my father was one of the founders of Hamas. It was a secret, and I did not know anything about it.

[...]

Yousef: I never joined Hamas, but I loved the movement because of my love for my father. I began to go to high school. During that period, due to my father, my knowledge of Islam and the Koran, and my personality, I became a leader of the Islamic bloc. I was the head of the Islamic bloc at the Ramallah high school. We were involved in the rivalry between Fatah and Hamas, which has existed since Hamas was founded – internal struggles for power and for influence over the public.

[...]

Yousef: About ten days before the end of the final exams, I was arrested by the [Israeli] special forces. They gave me a brutal beating, and broke my jaw. They interrogated me for three months at the Russian Compound detention center, where I was held in solitary confinement.

[...]

Yousef: After three months of interrogation, I was transferred to a prison where Palestinian prisoners from all factions were held. Even though the prison is run by the Israelis, the prisoners manage affairs on their own. Each faction plays a role in the management of the prisoners' affairs. Hamas was the majority in the prison. This was not the case at the beginning of the Intifada, when Fatah was the majority, but later, Hamas became the majority and had control of the prison – especially over its own people, who were the majority. This was the beginning of my awakening.

[...]

Yousef: As a child, I believed that all Muslims are like my father. If you are brought up on Islamic values – how do you turn out? You will be like my father, who is my role model, and whom I love very much. But then, my surprise began. After three days or so, [I began witnessing] greed and avarice, prisoners stealing food from others, prisoners enjoying things that not all prisoners could enjoy, such as visits inside the wings, which were restricted to some leaders of the Islamic movement in the prison. Such things may happen. People may become greedy sometimes, and their faith weakens, and they eat more. This is not our business. But the problematic thing was the interrogation of people suspected of collaborating with Israel. That was one of the most serious things, which led to a fundamental change in my life – not just in my life, but in the lives of many. Beatings, floggings, needles under the fingernails, the melting of plastic on the body, tying people to chairs for days and weeks... Hamas – or to be more precise, the Hamas leadership in prison – all played a role in this. They all praised and applauded the Hamas security apparatus, and even backed them fully when they tortured prisoners. I don't want to mention names. The Palestinian people are unaware of this. To be honest, I am sorry that the Palestinian press, which is supposed to be free, has not shed light on what goes on in prison. These people have made sacrifices. Some of them have been in prison for 20 years. How can you interrogate them, accusing them of collaborating with the occupation? He made sacrifices, just like you and me, and is a human being, like you and me. How can you place yourself above these people, and torture them, flog them, and interrogate them? We are talking about brutal, violent torture. Imagine, all night long... I was only 18 years old, sleeping in my bed under conditions... In a prison of the occupation... But that was not enough – they had to create a prison within the prison, and inflict torture in addition to the [Israeli] torture. For a whole year, I would hear people being tortured screaming all night long. Sometime they interrogated three people at the same time, and they would torture them in the most brutal ways. In approximately three years, no fewer than 16 people were killed. I say to the people of my region, Ramallah, if they are watching this show – who killed brother Muhammad Abu Shaqra? Outside prison, people believed Israel killed him, but in fact, it was Hamas. Later, Hamas paid "blood money" as compensation for its crime.

[...]

Yousef: I call upon the Palestinian people to open its eyes and see what Hamas was doing, when it functioned as a mini-state within the prison, and was in control inside the prison.

Like I said before - is the only hope for Arabs in Gaza Judea and Sumeria - a mass conversion to Christianity?
