Israel's Army Investigates Allegations of Misconduct during Gaza War

I'm posting about it only to emphasize that Israelis do not support cold blooded murder. A war is not in action to murder civilians of opposite nations. If any wrongdoings were done (and at war, it can happen) - those who offended get punished.

Now contrast that with anything happening in Gaza, Lebanon or any Arab nation with regards to how human beings are treated, not to mention Israelis and Jews.

IDF orders probe of Cast Lead accounts

Following the release of damning testimonies of soldiers and officers who took part in Operation Cast Lead at the beginning of 2009, which told of unethical, if not criminal conduct on the part of the military, the IDF announced on Thursday that it was launching an investigation into the matter.

In a statement released by the IDF Spokesperson's Office, the IDF Military Advocate General, Brig. Gen. Avichai Mendelblit was said to have instructed the Criminal Investigation Division of the IDF Military Police to investigate the soldiers' claims.

The testimonies included reports of shooting at people known to be non-combatants, evacuating families to zones which the military had defined as no-entry zones and therefore would open fire at any person entering, acts of vandalism and abuse of humanitarian aid.

The testimonies were given during a gathering at the Rabin Pre-Military Academy about a month ago and were alter published in an academy pamphlet. An IAF pilot and infantry soldiers participated in the gathering. Most participants said commands from higher echelons who were not present in the theater were sometimes taken as almost unlimited license to act as the soldiers in the field saw fit.

PS: From what I read - these are reports of horrifying accidents due to failure of communications, not instances of supposed "war crimes" or murder.

The only solution to avoid such incidents is to avoid war, and the only way to avoid war is for both sides to agree to cease hostilities. Now which side instigated the hostility here and has refused to cease firing rockets onto civilian population? Which side is holding someone captive without any charges and without any basic human rights such as a visit by the red cross? Which side celebrates death and murder? Which side treats the horrors of war as a basketball game where score of bodies is kept to either:
A. Proclaim undeserved victimhood due to overwhelming military defeat
B. Proclaim divine victory by virtue of successfully killing some Israelis
